I am a photographer with 30 years experience in newspapers and magazines, 16 of them spent working as a photographer for the best in UK publications.

My start in professional photography was in the tough news environments of Newcastle and Manchester. I turned freelance in 1996 and moved to Glasgow in 1998, quickly building a reputation for providing striking images for national newspapers and Scotland's PR and business community.

My early grounding in hard news gives me the ability to think fast and adapt to quickly changing situations, coming up with eye-catching images from unpromising situations without pre-planning - and to deliver those images against the most demanding of deadlines.

I work mostly in digital, providing the highest quality and fastest turn-around times. My recent work is a balance of news features and commercial photography.

Photographic experience is backed up by 12 years as a journalist; before taking up the camera full-time, I was a writer, reporter, sub-editor and page designer for national magazines and Fleet Street publications.

This background gives me an eye for what makes a great picture combined with the knowledge to get it onto the page.

When dealing with ministers or company executives in the pressure-cooker atmosphere of a big launch or press photo-call, you will be glad to have me working alongside you.
